On a beautiful sunny afternoon we took a group of Year 3 and 4 children to a Cross Country Festival at Crosfields School.
The ground underfoot was very wet and muddy due to the recent snow but the children carried on in a robust fashion. In the Year 3 girls race they competed really well with Hannah coming in a very impressive 6th place and all the other girls placing well too.
The Year 3 boys race was tough and they showed great grit and determination to complete the course. A special mention to Alfie who stopped to help out a team mate who had fallen over and encouraged him to finish the race. True sportmanship shown by him!
The Year 4 girls, of whom some had competed last year as Year 3, all improved on their second attempt and a very credible 16th place finish for Ella and Yasmine managed to lose a shoe in the mud (again!).
The last race of the day was the Year 4 boys and it was highly competitive but the boys did themselves proud, including another lost shoe through George, and finished in respectable positions.
A huge well done to those who took part!
